The 2024 Volunteer Recognition & Awards will be presented at the RNA Annual Awards Dinner on Friday 20th September 2024 to be held at The Juniors Maroubra. All members are welcome to attend, you can purchase tickets clicking on the button below.

Objectives of the Volunteer Recognition and Awards Policy
This policy recognises the significant contributions made by individuals as members and volunteers of the Randwick Netball Association (“RNA”). In naming some of these awards after our past members, recognition is given to their years of service and valued contributions. There are a number of awards covered by this policy and they are detailed separately, as they are all intrinsically different and bestow honour on volunteers from all areas of the sport of Netball in our Association. The Volunteer Recognition and Awards recognised within RNA are:
- RNA Hall of Fame
- Randwick Netball Association Life Membership
- The Patricia Martin Service Award
- The Carol Bunton Administrator of the Year Award
- The Carol Sykes Coach of the Year Award
- The Clare Hicks Umpire of the Year Award
- The Fran Reynolds Bench Officials Award
- The Kenny Award Premier League Player of the Year Award
- The Grace McDonald Metro League Player of the Year Award
- The Maureen Munce Senior Representative Player of the year Award
- The Marcia Ella Duncan Junior Representative Player of the year Award
- The Lorraine Wilding Most Promising Junior Development Player Award
- The President’s Award
- The Marie Kelly Club of the Year
- Nominations for an award may be made by any financial member of RNA.
- Nomination forms for awards will be placed on the RNA website and available to all members.
- Nominations must be submitted on the RNA Award Nomination Form.
- Nominations must include the full credentials of the proposed nominee relating specifically to their commitment, dedication and contribution to the promotion and betterment of netball in RNA.
Nominations must meet the criteria of the award. See specific award for details. - Any nomination which has been previously submitted but not selected may be reconsidered by the panel.

- Nominations must be received by the President of the Association by 30 August of each year.
- The Executive Committee will review all nominations to ensure the nomination meets the criteria as defined and, if appropriate, put forward such nomination for voting on by the Awards Panel.
- If an affirmative vote with a 2/3 majority of those votes received is returned, the award will be announced and presented at the Annual Award Night.

b) LIFE MEMBERSHIP
i. Any person may be elected a Life Member of the Association in recognition of ten
(10) years continuous outstanding service to the Association.
ii. Candidates for election as Life Members shall be nominated by two members of
the Council and to be received at least two (2) months before the meeting at
which such nominations will be considered.
iii. Candidates’ name(s) are to be circulated to members of the Executive Committee
of Randwick Association, Life Members and Affiliated Clubs.
iv. The vote must be carried by a two-third majority of members present and voting
at an Annual General Meeting.
v. Council may, by resolution from time to time, fix the maximum number of
persons who may at any time hold life membership.
vi. A Life Member shall be entitled to attend all Council, Special Council, Annual
General and any other Council meetings and shall have full voting rights.
vii. A person ceases to be a Life Member of the Association if the person:
a) is expelled from the Association in accordance with the Member
Protection Policy; or
b) is deceased.
c) SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENTS
i. Any person may be elected as a Service Award Recipient of the Association in
recognition of at least ten (10) years outstanding service.
ii. Candidates for the election for the Service Award shall be nominated by two (2)
members of the Council at least two (2) months before the meeting at which such
nominations will be considered.
iii. The nomination must be approved by a majority of at least two thirds of the
members present and voting at an Annual General Meeting. The Council may, from
time to time, fix the number of persons who may at any time hold a Service Award.
An active Service Award Recipient shall be entitled to attend all meetings without the
power to vote.
